I was born in Detroit, Michigan and grew up in Mt. Clemens, just north of Detroit. 

Being raised in church, I knew about God but did not have a real relationship with Him. When I was 15 years old, I began working with a children’s ministry team called the Good News Express. But I was not a true follower of Christ at that point. On April 10, 1978, during a youth revival, I had a real encounter with Jesus that changed my life forever. Since I was already working (unsaved) in the ministry at that time, I use that date to mark my spiritual birthday and my official entry into ministry. 

The Good News Express traveled all over the United States from coast to coast doing youth revivals, kids krusades, and youth camps. At the age of 20, I started attending East Coast Bible College where I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies with an emphasis on Pastoral Ministries. It was there that I met my beautiful wife, Donna, and we were married in 1984. We have one wonderful son, Daniel, who is an accomplished musician and serving Jesus with his music in Texas. 

Since entering the ministry, I have served as children's pastor, youth pastor, education director, and youth camp speaker. Donna and I have served as lead pastors for the past three decades in Michigan, Arizona, Texas, Kentucky and North Carolina.
